This chaming 1920s antique log cabin was built at the edge of Smith Cove, on an elevated perch overlooking the cove, and beyond to picturesque islands and the village of Castine in the distance. The cabin is surrounded by lush lawn, rock walls, gardens, shade trees, with granite steps and ramp delivering you to the excellent beach below. Inside, step back in time with hand hewn logged walls reaching to gabled ceilings, and warmed by a stunning stone fireplace. The bedrooms are split for privacy, on each side of the living room, and each with their own bath. Another separate room features a dining table, with pull-out sofa that can be used for added sleeping. Perhaps the room most will enjoy is the wrap-around screened porch, filled with rockers to relax and enjoy. A truly special place - providing the quintesential Maine experience! Special Warning: Smith Cottage has a very steep embankment. This property is not suitable for young children - and all children should be carefully monitored.

All rentals are subject to a 7% Maine Lodging Tax, plus an additional, refundable security deposit, and a cleaning fee. Pets are not allowed without prior permission from the owner of the cottage. If granted permission, an additional $100 pet fee is collected and kept at our discretion if any evidence of pet hair or damage is found on your departure.
