Strategically built on granite ledge to capture stunning views over Crockett Cove, this Emily Muir designed house blends rustic warmth and contemporary intrigue in a breathtaking setting. Cathedral beamed ceilings add an airy feel, uniquely colored panels and built-ins engender contemporary flair, and wooded floors and walls offer a relaxing feel. Designed to fit the setting like a glove, water views are impressive both in and out of the home. The large deck sits above the flowing waters of the cove, as tides change the landscape in delightful ways. High waters lap the rocky shore, while low tides open a land bride to a nearby island, and explose ample shoreline to explore. A small brook runs to the north side of the home, crossed by a small wooden bridge, with its rustling waters falling unto the shore below. The bridge delivers guests to an open, grassy area for play or sunning. As with all Emily Muir-designed cottage, windows galore bring the outside in, with a stone fireplace warming the fresh sea air. The great room (living room, dining area and kitchen) look over Crocket Cove and out beyond to Penobscot Bay. Three bedrooms (queen, 2 twins, full futon) and full bath compete the home (futon in LR). Guests will truly enjoy researching and reading about the home designer, Emily Muir, and the interesting life this artist led. The contributions she made to the island in terms of humanitarian, art and architecture are impressive and worthy of interest to visitors of our beautiful area. Located on Barbour Farm Road on Fire Lane 96F.
